The Dayton Art Institute features more than 1,000 works from the permanent collection on view in the museum galleries. The collection includes extensive Asian, pre-Columbian, European, American and Contemporary works.
The museum’s Lange Family Experiencenter, an interactive gallery for families and young people, offers visitors the opportunity to experience great art in smaller, thematically based exhibitions that stimulate curiosity and creativity. The museum also hosts a diverse range of special exhibitions, including the 2015 exhibitions Call to Duty: World War Posters, Tears of Stone: World War I Remembered, Photographs by Jane Alden Stevens, and American Sampler: Grandma Moses and the Handicraft Tradition.
