High School Volunteers
The Dayton Art Institute is seeking talented high school rising Juniors and Seniors for our new High School Volunteer Program. This unique opportunity provides students with volunteer hours and career development experience. Work with the Department of Learning and Visitor Experience to provide support for education programs, visitor experiences, and retail in our museum store. Experience what it is like to work in a museum, meet with professionals from diverse backgrounds, and gain transferable skills to support your resume and future career. Preferred Qualifications
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; enjoy working with children of all ages; able to engage children through planned activities; able to work in a team environment; and watch for ways to assist.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this assignment, the volunteer is regularly required to move throughout the museum and classroom: see, talk, hear, handle or feel and reach. Must be comfortable moving internally throughout the museum and externally on the museum grounds.
Time Commitment
Saturdays and Sundays during the school year; Summer (June 1 – August 1).
Compensation / Volunteer Hours
This is a volunteer position; therefore, it is an unpaid opportunity. All volunteer hours, however, will be logged and recorded for those students who are completing service hours for graduation.
