Ukrainian Pysanka Egg Display
Extended through May 1!
For a limited time, the DAI entrance rotunda features a special display of Ukrainian Easter eggs, created by artists Tanya Osadca and Aka Pereyma. Called pysanka, this traditional Ukrainian art form was cherished for what was believed to be its magical and regenerative powers.
We are grateful to Robert O’Neal and Christina Pereyma O’Neal for lending these fragile (and in some instances broken) eggshells to the museum, as a show of support for, and reminder of the struggles currently faced by, the people of Ukraine.
