A Taste for Pop: Gifts from S. Bradley Gillaugh
January 25–May 25, Gallery 119
This exhibition highlights gifts of art from a single donor, Dayton native Stephen Bradley “Brad” Gillaugh. It is a collection of contemporary styles, particularly Pop Art, and features items by some of the most prominent artists working in the 20th century, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Lee Bontecou, Edward Ruscha and others. These are artists Gillaugh worked with in his career as an exhibition coordinator and consultant in New York and California. Yet he always remembered where he learned his love of art, particularly from his many childhood visits to the DAI.
