Vanguard Legacy Concerts at the University of Dayton

After 54 years at The DAI, the Vanguard Concerts series came to a close in 2016, but the tradition of Vanguard Concerts lives on at the University of Dayton!

University of Dayton’s ArtsLIVE program presents Vanguard Legacy Concerts, which extend the Vanguard chamber music tradition initiated in 1962 at the Dayton Art Institute. Founded by Elana and Vincent Bolling, Vanguard was a widely admired series that brought hundreds of exceptional musicians to Dayton.

Vanguard’s tradition of excellence continues under the auspices of the University’s ArtsLIVE series, which has served the University’s campus and community audiences with adventurous, professional arts events since 1961. Vanguard Legacy Concerts continue to be curated by Elana Bolling.

All Vanguard Legacy Concert performances are held in the intimate space of the Sears Recital Hall in Jesse Philips Humanities Center on the University of Dayton campus. Parking is free, and Lot C is recommended. Lot C can be accessed via Evanston Avenue off Irving Avenue at the north end of Oakwood.

Tickets are available at the University Box Office in Kennedy Union: (937) 229-2545, or online through the ArtsLIVE website. Tickets are sold at the door on the day of performance, subject to availability.
