About the Art

This dramatic, spiraling sculpture tapers upwards to a sharp point. It is installed in front of the main entrance of the DAI and its shiny, mirrored stainless steel surface reflects the environment around it. Because of this, the sculpture visually transforms based on circumstances: the time of day, weather conditions and what activity takes place on the museum grounds. Safer’s dynamic feat of engineering seems to defy gravity, reaching nearly 70 feet into the sky
