She founded the Mosaic Institute in 2015, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring, empowering and unifying community through art. She accomplishes this mission by going out into neighborhoods to bring people together to create collaborative public art mosaics that last for generations, serving as a true testament to unity. McMillan has unified thousands in the Miami Valley to create over 30 permanent public mosaic art installations, including the 8.4 Memorial Mosaic involving over 5000 participants.\n“What started as a focus on creating beautiful mosaic art together has become a focus on the conversation we cultivate at the table.
