Chairs

No. Only museum-owned chairs may be used in the galleries. Lightweight chairs are available at the Visitor Services Desk.

Drawing

Yes. However, visitors may not use museum walls or pedestals for support.

Food in galleries

No. During special and rental events, food and drink are allowed in the Lower Court, Great Hall, Gallery of Native American Art (#209), Gallery of Antiquities (#211), Italian Cloister, Shaw Gothic Cloister, Key Bank Courtyard (when open) and General Motors Entrance Rotunda.

Photography (inside and outside)

Yes. Non-commercial photography is permitted. All photographs must be for private, personal use. Photography is not permitted inside the special exhibition or of any special exhibition works of art displayed throughout the museum. NO flashes, tri-pods or video cameras allowed inside the museum.

Photography in the Special Exhibition

No, photography is not allowed in special exhibitions, unless otherwise noted. During the run of American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell (Nov. 12 - Feb. 5, 2012) photos may be taken in the "Picture Yourself on the Cover" area, but not in the remainder of the exhibition.

Strollers

Yes, strollers are allowed in the permanent collection galleries. Please Note: Strollers are not allowed in the special exhibition American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell.
