Getting to Oktoberfest
Getting to and from Oktoberfest is a snap with our free shuttle service! Park for free at the Welch Packaging Group lot, one mile east of UD Arena on Edwin C. Moses Blvd., and take the free shuttle directly to and from Oktoberfest.
You may also park downtown and catch an RTA shuttle to Oktoberfest. RTA shuttles will run directly to the event from Franco’s Restaurant, Fifth and Bainbridge. The route travels from Wayne Ave. to Fifth St. to Main St. to Second St. across the Salem Ave. bridge to the festival main entrance. Look for Wright Flyer replica trolleys with Oktoberfest destination signs and board at any stop along this route. There is no charge for the RTA shuttle ride.
Limited street parking is available in the neighborhood surrounding The Dayton Art Institute. Please note: due to construction, there will be no street parking available along the levee on Riverview Ave., between Main St. and Forest Ave.
Construction Note - Northbound I-75 & US 35
During Oktoberfest weekend, a single lane closure will be in effect on I-75 northbound between Stewart St. and Edwin C. Moses Blvd., beginning Friday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m. This closure will take place nightly between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The affected lane is scheduled to reopen to motorists Sunday, September 23 at 6:00 a.m. Two lanes of traffic will remain open to northbound motorists. Motorists wishing to access I-75 north from US 35 during this time will be detoured to Dryden Road due to the U-turn lane at Edwin C. Moses Blvd. being unavailable. Those travelling to Oktoberfest along the affected routes during these times may want to consider alternate routes.
