Studio Workshop with KIM WESTON

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Workshop limited to 12 people

Plans are underway to bring Kim Weston to Dayton for an intensive studio workshop!

Kim Weston, grandson of Edward Weston, is a third generation member of one of the most important and creative families in photography. He has been a fine art photographer for almost 30 years. Kim learned his craft assisting his father, Cole in the darkroom. Kim also worked for many years as an assistant to his Uncle Brett, whose bold, abstract photographs rank as some of the finest examples of modern photographic art. Kim creates his own photographs using innovative sets he designs and constructs in his studio at Wildcat Hill in California.

This studio workshop offers a special opportunity for you to explore various aspects of photography while learning about the Weston Family's historic contributions to fine art photography. Among the highlights of this workshop are several demonstrations by Kim Weston of Edward Weston's developing and printing techniques, a critique of your own work, and time for you to work with Kim as you photograph nude models in the studio.

Fee: $300.00.  What to bring:

  • Your own camera
  • Many rolls of film
  • Sack lunch
  • A selection of your photographs
