and the Golden Age in Holland Dr. Marybeth Carlson, professor of history at the University of Dayton, along with art historian Dr. Roger Crum will present a series of four lectures covering the art of Rembrandt and the Dutch masters within the context of seventeenth century life in Holland, known as the Golden Age. Art and Life, will discuss the tradition and symbolism of food in Dutch
painting. Join us following the lecture for the rare opportunity to watch
Portland artist Margret Short paint a still life in the techniques of
the Old Masters while you sample traditional Dutch treats, including cheeses,

100 Years Ago and Today: A Picture of Change 7:00 p.m. NCR Renaissance Auditorium Dr. Catherine Scallen, associate professor of art history at Case Western Reserve University, is a specialist in Northern Baroque art, with an emphasis on the art of Rembrandt. A Princeton graduate, she recently published Rembrandt, Reputation, and the Practice of Connoisseurship. Fees: $12 members, $15 non-members.
