Decriptive Tour for the Blind
Descriptive Tours for the Blind of Rembrandt and the Golden Age of Dutch Art: Treasures from the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam
In support of the national observance of Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month in October, The Dayton Art Institute is offering a descriptive tour for the blind of Rembrandt and the Golden Age of Dutch Art: Treasures from the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
The tour will begin with an introduction to the exhibition and Dutch life in the 17th century. Visitors will move through the exhibition where key paintings and objects will be described. Touchable examples of objects demonstrating methods and materials used in the artworks will be included.
During the month of October, the exhibition ticket price will be waived for scheduled tours for the blind plus one companion (adults or children, individuals or groups).
Tours for the blind will be scheduled on the hour, Mondays through Wednesdays, 1:00 to 3:00, Thursdays and Fridays, 1:00 to 7:00.
Visitors who schedule tours in November
and December will be charged the regular ticket price.
Adults $16, Seniors $14,
Students $14, Youth $8,
Children 6 and under FREE

Tours
A Docent on
Call (DOC) offers free tours for visitors who are not part of a group
but who would like a tour of the museum’s permanent collection or
special exhibition. Reservations for the DOC are not required.
Free DOC tours of the museum’s
permanent collection and special exhibition are available on Thursdays
at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and on Sundays at 3:00 PM.
