The River

South Gallery

The Little Miami River flows through southwestern Ohio for more than 100
miles from its headwaters outside of Springfield all the way to the Ohio
River.   The first river in Ohio to be designated as both a State and a
National Scenic River, it contains some of the most scenic areas in the state.

The river's watershed drains more than 1,700 square miles of territory, a
mixture of farmland, small towns, and city suburbs including some of the fastest growing counties in the state.

The images in this exhibition are all part of the first Annual Photo Contest
sponsored by the Little Miami River Partnership to encourage public
awareness and appreciation of both the beauty of the river and the
challenges it faces.

A non-profit organization, the Little Miami River Project was created to promote a healthy river through collaboration, planning, education and action.

Other sponsors include: Malcolm-Pirnie, Inc., Little Miami, Inc., and the Warren SWCD.
