Please join us for a talk with Wes Cowan, owner of Cowan’s Auctions in Cincinnati and star of the PBS television series History Detectives and Antiques Roadshow, as he shares his unique perspective on the role of museums and institutions and the changing landscape of the antiques market. A question-and-answer session follows.

Are treasures hiding among the dust in your attic or garage? Have you always wondered about your family heirlooms and collectibles? Bring them to the experts to see if they are as priceless as you hope. Wes Cowan, founder and owner of Cowan’s Auctions, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be the resident expert for the day.
In addition, no discussion of antiques and art is complete without mention of “condition”. Representatives from Old World Restorations, of Cincinnati, will be available with information on proper care and restoration for your treasures.
Please note:
• Each person may bring up to two items for appraisal (no lots please).
• Experts will be available to cover all possible types of fine art and antiques including:
- Paintings
- Furniture (Please do not attempt to carry large items. Photographs will be sufficient for appraisal. Please include multiple views, close-ups of any details, and signatures if present).
- Historic Americana
- Antique advertising, patriotic items, etc.
- Documents and manuscripts
• Experts will appraise only those items that can be carried. Bring photographs for large items, such as furniture. You will not be permitted to enter the museum with such items.
• The following items will not be appraised:
- Costume jewelry
- Stamps
- Firearms
- Coins
