December 6-7, 2014
ArtTrek is planning a special trip to Chicago, December 6-7, to attend the new exhibit about David Bowie (yes, you read correctly!) at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The trip also includes a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as evening activities in the Windy City. You will depart The DAI at 6:00 a.m. on December 6 and travel by deluxe motorcoach to Chicago, with a one-night stay at the Palmer House Hilton. On December 6, visit David Bowie Is at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Enjoy dinner on Saturday night at Orso's and entertainment at the Second City. On Sunday, December 7, visit the Art Institute of Chicago or shop on the Magnificent Mile. We board the motorcoach for the return trip home at 2:00 p.m. on December 7.
The cost of the Chicago ArtTrek is $495 Double and $589 Single for museum members ($50 additional fee for non-members).

Barging the Netherlands: The Old Masters
April 9-18, 2015
You won't want to miss the spectular new trip we have planned for the spring of 2015! Explore the art world in the Netherlands, focusing on the Old Masters, their lives and style. Discover the inland waterways of the Netherlands on an exclusively chartered barge, while exploring unique Dutch villages that are off the beaten path and the landscape that so inspired the Old Masters. Join art historians for an introduction to the great masters, and visit renowned art collections in museums large and small.
- Accompany art historians to examine the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, van Gogh, Frans Hals and van Eyck while exploring the Mauritshuis in The Hague, and several smaller museums.
- Visit the famous Keukenhof gardens with millions of flowers.
- Attend a presentation at the Porceleyne Fles in Delft, the oldest surviving porcelain factory in the Netherlands.
- View the historic Golden Age altar panels by Pieter Pourdus and Jan Steen at the Museum Gouda.
- Enjoy an excursion to the Boijmans Museum to view the fine collection of Old Masters.
Cost: $3,250 per person, double occupancy ($750 additional for single occupancy), airfare not included. Space is very limited for this trip, and a $500 Deposit must be paid by November 7 to be included on this trip. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Informational Meeting & Presentation
On Wednesday, October 29, Pat Sayre, a docent with the Taft Museum of Art, will give a presentation at The DAI about the trip. Pat has taken this barge trip five times, and she will present slides and answer questions about the trip.
