Vanguard Concerts

Cicely Parnas
April 11 2014
Vanguard Concerts

Vanguard Concerts continues its 2013-2014 season with acclaimed cellist Cicely Parnas.

First Prize winner of the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, Cicely Parnas also won the 2012 Artistic Excellence Award at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she earned her Artist Diploma studying with Peter Wiley and Sharon Robinson, two masters of the cello who have been on our stage. The New York Times hailed her as “the impressive soloist in a rhapsodic performance of Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto” and noted the “velvety sound, articulate passagework and keen imagination” of her performance. Cicely started playing the cello at age four and made her concerto debut at 11 with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra. She performs on a 1712 Grancino cello.
