Super Saturday Family Days
Looking for a fun and creative Saturday afternoon for you and your family? Join us on the second and fourth Saturday of every month (unless otherwise noted) for art-making fun! Drop in between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to learn new art-making techniques and create artwork and memories that you’ll take home and cherish. Be sure to check back often for more about program themes and new Super Saturday collaborations.
Perfect for all ages and all materials are provided!
Fall 2014 Schedule
September 13: Peace Week
Celebrate Dayton Peace Week and the installation of a Peace Pole on The DAI grounds with musical performances by local musicians and outdoor art-making.
September 27: No Super Saturday - join us for the ACCO FamilyFest at Oktoberfest!
October 11: Fabric Frolic
Create wearable artwork with artist Deborah Brod, whose work will be on view in the Experiencenter later in the fall. She will teach you fun, innovative fabric dyeing techniques.
October 25: Halloween Open Studio
Bring in your Halloween costume to embellish using all of the supplies available to you in our art studio! Or create a personalized candy sack provided by the museum. Artists will be on hand to assist. All materials provided (but bring in your costume to “fancify”).
November 8: No Super Saturday - join us for a special Decked Out! Family Day & Opening Reception.
November 22: Konnichiwa Japan!
Celebrate the Deco Japan special exhibition by learning about Japanese art and culture while creating a fun and whimsical Japanese art project and participating in a Japanese tea ceremony.
December 6: Fun with Frosty
Create an adorable Frosty the Snowman door stopper using bricks! Take it home to display or give it as a gift this holiday season.
December 13: Holiday Open Studio
Create beautiful, unique cards to send out this holiday season. Printmakers, collage artists and other art professionals will be on hand to help you make amazing cards using different kinds of materials!
