DOCENT-LED TOURS
Available for the permanent collection and special exhibitions at no additional cost. Tues., Wed., Fri., Sat., and Sun., 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Thursdays, 10:00a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Reservations are required.
Length of tours are: K - grade 3, 45 minutes; Grade 4 - 12, 60 minutes.
DOCENT-LED TOURS WITH WORKSHOP
Available from Sept. - May, Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Length of tours with workshop are: K through grade 3 – 1 ½ hours (45 minute tour and 45 minute workshop); Grade 4 through 12 - 2 hours (60 minute tour and 60 minute workshop)
GROUP SIZE
Docent-led tour: maximum - 75, minimum – 10.
Tours with workshop: maximum - 40, minimum – 10.
FEES
Admission FREE, courtesy of Chase (excluding special exhibitions), Workshops - $6 per student/$7 for Muse Machine
Payment – Bring a personal or certified check on the day of visit or call to request an invoice. If requesting an invoice, you must provide a purchase order number. Muse Machine members will be billed separatly.

• All tour reservations will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
• Only one tour per group
• Confirmation letters will be mailed 3-4 weeks before your requested tour.
(If the museum is unable to accommodate your tour, you will notified by phone)
• Limited availability for tours - no workshops from June through August.

PREPARE STUDENTS
Prepare your students to look at and discuss works of art. Please discuss museum etiquette (mailed with your confirmation letter) in advance to ensure a pleasant visit for your students and other museum visitors.
SELF-GUIDED TOURS
These tours should be scheduled through the Education Assistant for Scheduling. The museum asks that self-guided tours yield to docent-led tours.
CANCELLATIONS
If you must cancel a tour, please call the Tour and ERC Manager at least 24 hours prior to your tour. The museum has a 24 hour answering system so please leave a message.
CHAPERONES
Chaperones are required for every student group:
Grades 4 through 12 - 1 adult per 10 students.
Kindergarten through grade 3 - 1 adult per 6 students.
LUNCH
Space is available April 1 through September 30 in the Italian Cloister (an outside accommodation) on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, an alternative space CANNOT be provided if the weather is inclement. Groups are responsible for collecting and disposing of their own trash. Call the Tour & ERC Manager for reservations four weeks prior to the month of your visit. For Café Monet reservations, private dinning room rentals and museum rentals call the director of food and beverage at (937) 223-5277, ext. 262.
SKETCHING AND PAINTING IN THE GALLERIES is permitted by contacting The Dayton Art Institute curatorial registrar, (937) 223-5277, ext. 330.
CAMERAS without a flash or tripod are permitted in the museum’s collection. VIDEO RECORDERS are not permitted in the galleries.
WRITING IN THE GALLERIES is permitted with pencils only. Please, do not lean against gallery walls, display cases, or pedestals when writing.
