Children may join the Museum Kids Club, free of charge, anytime throughout the year. Please register for the program at Guest Services in the museum.
Throughout the course of two years from the date of registration, members will complete three gallery hunts and attend one event or art class at the museum. Each time an activity is completed the child will receive a stamp on his/her member card. All hunts and stamps are available at Guest Services.
Upon completing the membership requirements and earning all four stamps, the child is rewarded with his or her very own art kit full of painting and drawing supplies!
Once registered in the Museum Kids Club members will receive a quarterly postcard or e-newsletter with a calendar of events. Members also receive a birthday card that can be turned in for a treat at the museum’s Café Monet by Elegant Fare.
About the Gallery Hunts:
The three gallery hunts are based on the following themes: Animals in Art, Faces, and Who Knew. The activities highlight the museum’s collection while challenging children to solve puzzles as they hunt for works of art.
About the Events:
Along with the three gallery hunts, members are asked to attend at least one family event at the museum, such as Experiencenter exhibition openings or Oktoberfest. Visiting a local festival where the Art Institute has a Museum Kids Club activity also fulfills this requirement. In addition, children may earn their event stamp by enrolling in a studio class.
