Art that flourished around the Mediterranean before the age of Christ are represented in this gallery with objects from the Cycladic, Etruscan, Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations. Highlighted objects include a Standing Female Idol from the Cycladic Islands from the 3rd millennium B.C., a painted relief of an Egyptian noble couple from 1570—197 B.C., and a sixth-century Greek black-figure amphora painted by “The Dayton Painter."
